As Senior Nature-based Solutions Specialist at EcoSecurities, I coordinated the technical development of blue carbon and peatland projects under Verra and Gold Standard, from the first feasibility question through to registration.
I also lecture on blue carbon within an MBA on carbon markets, and I have just presented research on how existing carbon-project standards can unintentionally slow mangrove conservation and restoration. The blue carbon projects I led were named Best Project Developer, Blue Carbon in Environmental Finance’s Voluntary Carbon Market Rankings three years running, in 2022, 2023, and 2024.
