Overview

Making the science land in classrooms, books, and pictures.

I co-edited Brazilian Mangroves and Salt Marshes, part of Springer’s Brazilian Marine Biodiversity Series, curating contributions, coordinating co-authors, and writing several chapters. Over two decades I have taught marine biology, ecology, and environmental subjects at USP and Mackenzie, and through ARGOS, an independent marine biology teaching organisation.

I also write and illustrate for wider audiences: I co-authored and illustrated the children’s story Scarlet and the Mangroves, produced an illustrated guide to mangrove trees, and helped tell Amazonian community stories through children’s eyes.
